One of our teachers Sue Thornton was asked to speak at The British Association of Teachers of Dancing (BATD) Annual Conference held in Stockport 19th - 21st June 2015. She spoke on teaching Special Needs students. Sue was accompanied by three of her students from one of the schools supported by "We Can Dance". They demonstrated some of the steps from their recent dance exams. The students and Sue received a standing ovation from all the BATD dance teachers attending the conference.

Over the last few years Sue has been writing the "Special Needs Dance Exams" directly as a result of her involvement with WCD for the BATD. These dance exams have been examined up to level 5 and many special needs students have successfully taken them with excellent results. Level 6 is to follow.
